Spring is Here!

Spring always feels like a fresh start. The snow melts, the sun comes out a little longer, and everything starts to bloom again — including us. After a long Wisconsin winter (and let’s be honest, some really grey days), I’ve learned to be more intentional about how I move through the seasons, especially the quiet, colder ones.
Not long ago, I learned about something called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) — a type of depression that can happen during certain seasons, especially winter. I didn’t know it was a real thing until I realized how much my mood shifts when there’s less sunlight and I’m indoors more often. Now, I try to check in with myself more. I pay attention to how I’m feeling and find ways to stay grounded and uplifted — things like journaling, prayer, a cozy cup of tea, or just a few quiet moments to breathe.
Being home more in the winter has actually helped me reflect. It’s given me space to pause and recenter, to take care of myself, and to listen to what life is trying to teach me. I truly believe that just like the seasons change, so do we — and there’s always something to learn if we slow down and pay attention.
With spring here and Easter approaching, I’m reminded of the power of new beginnings and renewed purpose. The resurrection of Christ is a beautiful reminder that even after the darkest seasons, there is light, hope, and new life. My faith keeps me grounded through it all — through the ups, the downs, and everything in between.
I’m so grateful for what I get to do through The Grey House — creating space for others to feel joy, connection, and creativity. It’s more than events or workshops… it’s about building a place where people can celebrate, heal, and grow together.
I’m excited for this new season and everything it may bring. The people I’ll meet, the stories I’ll hear, and the impact that will unfold — it all feels like a blessing.
Here’s to spring, fresh starts, and trusting the season you’re in.
